Posifon SmartSole

The Posifon GPS Smartsole is a GPS alarm that is discreetly placed in the user’s shoe. When the user starts moving, the device is automatically activated. If the person leaves a preset safety area, an alarm is sent directly to relatives or caregivers.

Smartsole is particularly useful for people who often forget or are reluctant to carry a mobile phone, bracelet or device in their pocket. By integrating the technology into something as natural as a sole, tracking becomes invisible to the user but fully visible to those who want to secure everyday life remotely.

With the GPS unit integrated into the sole, there is no need for the wearer to wear a visible alarm that can be distracting or removed. As long as the shoe is worn, the safety is there – automatically. After charging, the sole is simply placed back into the shoe, without any hassle or extra steps. Posifon Smartsole makes it easy to live an active life while maintaining safety – without compromising the feeling of freedom or independence.

Posifon Smartsole is always active and works energy efficiently thanks to its smart sleep mode. The device automatically goes into sleep mode when inactive to maximize battery life. As soon as it is moved, it is activated again and resumes its positioning immediately.

For added peace of mind, alarms are generated when the battery is low. Charging is also completely wireless – just place the sole on the charger and the device does the rest.

Posifon Smartsole contains all the necessary electronics – discreetly encapsulated in the sole itself. Thanks to acceleration and direction change sensors, the device is able to detect movement and take positions at the right times, contributing to both energy efficiency and reliable tracking.

In addition, Smartsole is waterproof to IP67. SmartSole is positioned via GPS.

If GPS SmartSole is to be used in the care of people with dementia, or to support the daily life of people with reduced decision-making capacity, we would urge you as a caregiver to carefully consider the impact of the technology on the individual’s autonomy. As SmartSole is invisible in everyday life, there is a risk that the person may not be aware that they are wearing a GPS device.

Therefore, whenever possible, we recommend using devices that are worn visibly. For example, devices worn around the wrist or around the neck in necklaces, which increases the conditions for a more active consent. At the same time, we would like to clarify that from an ethical perspective, SmartSole is no different from carrying a GPS alarm in your pocket, in a bag, on a walker or on a keychain.

Our starting point is simple: the most important thing is to enable the individual to live as independent, safe and active a life as possible. In many cases, the GPS alarm is the least intrusive way to ensure safety – both for the user and for relatives or staff.

SmartSole is fully integrated with our PosifonCare portal – an easy-to-use and powerful GPS alarm management system. In the portal you manage all the functions and settings of all our GPS alarm models, which work seamlessly together in the same system. All settings can be made remotely and are automatically transferred to the device via the mobile network, saving both time and resources for the business.
