Careousel Advance is an automatic medication dispenser that reminds the user by sound and/or flashing light when it is time to take the medication. At the right time, the dosette advances the exact dose, while keeping the remaining medication inaccessible to prevent misdosing.
The medicine is packed in a cassette with 28 compartments. You can set up to 24 reminder times per day. For example: with four dosing sessions per day, the cassette needs to be refilled once a week. The user takes the medicine by turning Careousel upside down – the dose then falls out into the hand or into a bowl, and the reminder signal is automatically switched off.
Self-locking security lid
Careousel Advance is ideal to take with you when traveling. Even if the dosette is upside down, it reminds you as usual at the set times. However, it does not advance the medication until the device is in the correct position and the next dose is due – preventing accidental withdrawal.
Advance is equipped with a self-locking safety lid that covers the opening in the lid and prevents access to the medication – except during the time window when the dose is programmed to be available. In this way, Careousel prevents both double dosing and early access to a new dose, for example immediately after refilling. This feature is also patented, making it unique in the market.
No overdose
Once you have filled the cassette with medicine and closed the lid, the safety feature is immediately activated. The safety lid locks and prevents access to the doses until the right time.
When it is time to take the medication, Careousel reminds with sound and light signal. The user turns the cassette clockwise and then turns the device upside down to dispense the medicine into the hand or a container – simultaneously opening the safety lid.
If the medication is not taken within the programmed time (5 minutes to 5 hours), Careousel automatically locks the safety cap. This way, access to the missed dose is blocked, preventing the user from accidentally taking two doses in close succession.
